Lou Dalfin, an Italian folk rock band from the Occitan Valleys of Piedmont, was formed in 1982 by Sergio Berardo. The group initially focused on traditional Occitan music with an acoustic lineup and a repertoire of historical songs. Their debut album, En Franso i ero de granda guera, was released in 1982, followed by L'aze d'Alegre in 1984. After disbanding in 1985, Lou Dalfin reformed in 1990 with a new lineup that included rock and jazz influences. This transition led to the introduction of electric instruments alongside traditional ones. In 2004, they released L'òste del Diau, which won the Tenco Prize for Best Traditional Music Album in Italy. Their album I Virasolelhs (2007) featured collaborations with Papet J of Massilia Sound System. In 2011, the band released Cavalier Faidit.
