Biography

Lotto King Karl, born Gerrit Heesemann on 4 February 1967 in Hamburg, Germany, is a German singer and radio host. After completing his Abitur, he worked as a packer and courier before serving in the German Navy, where he adopted the stage name Lotto King Karl. His breakthrough came with the 1995 single "Ich hab’ den Jackpot", followed by a radio show on Delta Radio. In 1996 he released his debut album Weiß’ Bescheid?!, establishing him as a Hamburg local star with songs that reference the city’s culture and the HSV football club. Subsequent releases-including Die alte S‑Klasse (1999), Bier Her Now! (2000), Das HSV‑Album (2001), Rotverschiebung (2001), Nichts Als Dem Wahrheit… (2003), Aus Liebe zum Spiel (2004), Freunde (2005), Ikarus (2006), Seitenwechsel (2008), Die Grosse Liebe (2009), Was Ist Eigentlich Mit Frank? (2011), and 360 Grad (2017)-were issued on his Northcoast Records label, distributed by Sony. The single "Keine Grenzen – Keine Zäune" (2004) entered the German charts and was used in a Berentzen TV advertisement. He expanded his live presence with the Born2Rock‑Live2Die tour in 2005 and later served as a stadium announcer for Hamburger SV until 2019. In 2017 360 Grad peaked at number 17 on the German charts.
