Biography

Ann Robie Bandes, known professionally as Little Annie, is a singer and songwriter born in New York City in 1961. She began her musical career at age 16 with her band Annie and the Asexuals, formed in 1977. After moving to the United Kingdom in 1981, Bandes worked with Penny Rimbaud and Crass, becoming the "house chanteuse" for Adrian Sherwood's On-U Sound Records. She collaborated extensively with artists such as The Wolfgang Press, Current 93, Coil, and Lee 'Scratch' Perry, and took a hiatus from music in 1990. Albums include Soul Possession (1984), Jackamo (1987), Short and Sweet (1993), Songs from the Coalmine Canary (2006), and Trace (2016).
