Linx, a British soul/funk band, was formed in 1980 and initially consisted of lead vocalist David Grant, keyboardist Bob Carter, drummer Andy Duncan, guitarist Canute Edwards, bassist Peter Martin, and backing vocalist Junior Giscombe. Their breakthrough came with the single "Can't Help Myself" and the followâup "So This Is Romance", both released in 1981, which propelled Linx onto the UK Singles Chart. The album Intuition (1981) peaked at number 8 on the UK Albums Chart, and the single "Intuition" reached number 7 early 1981. After their initial success, the lineup narrowed to David Grant and Peter Martin, and the group disbanded in 1983. David Grant pursued a solo career, achieving chart hits and later serving as a vocal coach on the BBC series Fame Academy between 2002 and 2003.
