Lila Rosa Bozo Morillo Parra, known professionally as Lila Morillo, was born on August 14, 1940, in Maracaibo, Venezuela. She began her career as a singer at age 15 with Mario Suárez, releasing their first album Estampa Criolla in 1959. Morillo's breakthrough came with hits like "Tres meses de vida" and "Mi vidita", which established her as a prominent artist. She signed with Velvet Música, becoming one of Venezuela's top-selling artists with over 80 albums recorded. Notable collaborations include working with José Luis RodrÃguez "El Puma," whom she married in 1966; their marriage ended in divorce in 1986. Morillo continued to release successful albums such as Soy Mujer Venezolana and Ahora, and her acting career included roles in telenovelas like MarÃa Mercé, La Chinita. She also won the Festival Mundial del Lago with "Lluvia" in 1972. Throughout her career, Morillo was known for her versatility, performing a wide range of genres including Venezuelan folklore, tangos, boleros, salsa, and rancheras.
