Eric Bellinger is an American R&B singer, songwriter, and producer, born Eric Aldwin Bellinger Jr. on March 27, 1984, in Norwalk, California, and raised in the Los Angeles/Compton area. The grandson of Bobby Day, the singer-songwriter behind âRockinâ Robin,â Bellinger entered the industry through songwriting in the early 2010s, working with The Writing Camp and building credits for artists such as Usher, Chris Brown, Justin Bieber, Selena Gomez, Trey Songz, and Big Time Rush. His work on Chris Brownâs Grammy-winning F.A.M.E. helped establish him as a reliable R&B writer, while later credits included Usherâs âLemme See,â Chris Brownâs âNew Flame,â and Justin Bieberâs âRight Here.â Bellinger moved forward as a solo artist with the mixtape series Born II Sing in 2013 and his debut album The Rebirth in 2014, followed by Cuffing Season and Cuffing Season, Part 2 in 2015. His Eric B for President projects in 2016 and 2017 produced fan favorites such as âG.O.A.T.â and âDrive By,â both later certified Gold by the RIAA. He continued with Eazy Call in 2018, The Rebirth 2, Saved by the Bellinger, and Cuffing Season, Part 3 in 2019, then teamed with Hitmaka for 1-800-HIT-EAZY in 2021. That same year, New Light earned him a Grammy nomination for Best Progressive R&B Album, followed by a Roc Nation publishing deal and a theme-song performance for the animated series Mecha Builders in 2022. Bellinger and Hitmaka released 1(800)HIT-EAZY: Line 2 in 2023, before he issued The Rebirth 3: The Party & The Bedroom and the Cape Town-inspired Itâll All Make Sense Later in 2024. In 2025, he expanded that global R&B direction with It All Makes Sense. In 2026, he signed with the relaunched Tamla/Motown Records and released âCry In Front Of Youâ and âJust Like You,â setting up a new self-titled album era and a U.S. headline tour.
