Ralph Jordon Croucher, known professionally as JRDN, was born on November 14, 1978, in Halifax, Nova Scotia. He began his music career by competing in Canadian Idol, which provided him with television exposure and opportunities to perform with Canadian talent. In 2007, he released the independent album No Dress Code under the production of Classified, featuring singles like "Selfish Times" and "Feelinâ Fine." The album earned him the CBC Galaxie Rising Star prize at the African Nova Scotian Music Awards in 2007. In 2010, JRDN signed to Kuya Productions and released his official debut album IAMJRDN, which debuted at number 13 on the Canadian R&B Albums Chart. The album's first single "U Can Have It All" reached number 20 on the Canadian Hot 100, while the second single "Like Magic" peaked at number 24 and was certified Gold by Music Canada in September 2012. JRDN followed up with the single "Can't Choose" featuring Kardinal Offishall in 2013, and the EPs Like It with Cat Dealers (2016) and Supply & Demand (2018). In 2021, he returned with the album Ralph.
