LIGHT BRINGER, a Japanese powerâmetal group formed in Aprilâ¯2005, emerged from the heavyâmetal scene of Tokyo with vocalist Fuki leading a lineup that included guitarist JaY, bassist Hibiki, keyboardist Mao, and drummer Yumi (Yumita Hideaki). The bandâs first independent EP, Heartful Message, was released on 11â¯Novemberâ¯2007, followed by the single "Noah" on 23â¯Novemberâ¯2011, marking its transition to a major label when it signed with King Records that same year. Chronologically, the group issued its debut studio album Tales of Almanac on 8â¯Mayâ¯2009, and the followâup Midnight Circus on 29â¯Mayâ¯2010, with a premium edition appearing in Januaryâ¯2011. Their first major studio release, Genesis, dropped on 18â¯Januaryâ¯2012 and peaked at number 28 on the Oricon weekly charts; the subsequent album Scenes of Infinity reached number 29 on 29â¯Mayâ¯2013. In early Novemberâ¯2014 the band announced an indefinite hiatus after a final concert in December, and its last major album, Monument, was issued on 5â¯Novemberâ¯2014, achieving a peak position of number 26 on Oricon and remaining on the chart for two weeks. The group concluded its activity with a live DVD release, Live DVD â The Light Brings the Past Scenes, on 10â¯Decemberâ¯2014, after which the band entered an indefinite dormancy.
