Biography

LIGHT BRINGER, a Japanese power‑metal group formed in April 2005, emerged from the heavy‑metal scene of Tokyo with vocalist Fuki leading a lineup that included guitarist JaY, bassist Hibiki, keyboardist Mao, and drummer Yumi (Yumita Hideaki). The band’s first independent EP, Heartful Message, was released on 11 November 2007, followed by the single "Noah" on 23 November 2011, marking its transition to a major label when it signed with King Records that same year. Chronologically, the group issued its debut studio album Tales of Almanac on 8 May 2009, and the follow‑up Midnight Circus on 29 May 2010, with a premium edition appearing in January 2011. Their first major studio release, Genesis, dropped on 18 January 2012 and peaked at number 28 on the Oricon weekly charts; the subsequent album Scenes of Infinity reached number 29 on 29 May 2013. In early November 2014 the band announced an indefinite hiatus after a final concert in December, and its last major album, Monument, was issued on 5 November 2014, achieving a peak position of number 26 on Oricon and remaining on the chart for two weeks. The group concluded its activity with a live DVD release, Live DVD – The Light Brings the Past Scenes, on 10 December 2014, after which the band entered an indefinite dormancy.
