Biography

A festive phenomenon blending musette, drinking songs and popular humor, Licence IV first hit the headlines in 1986. Formed by Francis Vacher (vocals), Olivier Guillot (vocals) and Gilles Lecouty, aka "Gilou", Licence IV turned the tables in 1987 with the song "Viens boire un p'tit coup à la maison", which spent a whopping thirteen weeks at the top of the Top 50. It should be noted that this song was composed with the help of Jean-Jacques Lafon under the pseudonym J. Falon. Between tours and a few songs in the same style, Licence IV managed to maintain its popularity until 1991. In 1994, the death of Olivier Guillot in a car accident put an end to the group. On July 4, 2010, Francis Vacher succumbed to a brain tumor.
