Biography

Born on June 26, 1935 in Saint-Pierre, Martinique, David Martial is best known for his song "CÃ©limÃ¨ne ". Originally a biguine singer, David Martial specialized in an exotic repertoire bordering on the parodic. His light-hearted songs extolled the real or supposed assets of the Antilles. Released in 1976, "CÃ©limÃ¨ne " has become a veritable anthem for the end of banquets, with its unstoppable refrain "CÃ©, cÃ©, cÃ©...CÃ©limÃ¨ne". The song appeared on the 1976 album JosÃ©phine. Always dynamic, David Martial took part in the Ãge Tendre et TÃªte de Bois tour in 2012.
