Biography

This French industrial percussion collective was formed in Burgundy in 1986. Their spectacular music comes to life in hyper-energetic shows featuring 17 musicians who induce a tribal trance by banging on 15 iron drums with wooden mallets, to which electro, rock or world samples are added using two mixing tables. Les Tambours du Bronx's original collaborations have earned them an international reputation. They have collaborated with a symphony orchestra ( Grand Mix album in 1992), taken part in the Revolutionary Bicentenary Parade in 1989, played in 2009 with traditional Breton singers, the Morvan brothers, and in 2011 with the group Sepultura. A CD/DVD, Fukushima Mon Amour, released in 2011, looks back on this rise.
