Biography
Swedish pop band Mares are a group of friends who studied together at the Rosendalsgymnasiet High School in Uppsala, Sweden. They were brought together by their mutual love of music and began uploading their songs to YouTube so that their friends could listen to them. They were encouraged to publish their songs on streaming platforms and they became an unexpected viral hit with nearly 20 million listens to date of their most popular song 'Allt Du Gör Och Att Du Fims' (2015). The song was such a success that the band were investigated for fraudulent hits, but were found to be innocent.
Mares released their first EP 'Rock 'n' Roll Will Never Die' in 2018 and performed in a sell-out concert at Gröna Lund Amusement Park. The concert was so popular that organisers had to shut the doors because the venue was full with more than 5000 people in attendance. They followed this with the release of their debut album 'Sunnanvind' in 2019. They toured throughout Sweden in early 2019 and performed at the Töreboda Festival.
