Biography
A group of mainly French-speaking artists and public personalities, the Enfoirés troupe was created in 1985 to raise funds for the Restos du CÅur charity founded by Coluche. Singer Jean-Jacques Goldman first brought the project to life, composing "La Chanson des Restos", which was performed by a host of celebrities including Yves Montand, Nathalie Baye, Michel Platini, Coluche and Michel Drucker. From 1986 onwards, television programs took over as fund-raisers, but from 1989 onwards, a new principle was explored. Several artists collectively gave a series of concerts, which were then released as an album, the sales of which helped finance the Restos du CÅur. For the first edition, Véronique Sanson, Jean-Jacques Goldman, Michel Sardou, Eddy Mitchell and Johnny Hallyday made common cause around their repertoires and published the album Tournée d'Enfoirés. From 1992 onwards, the tour became an annual event, systematically welcoming new figures from the world of music, cinema and even sport, although certain personalities such as Patrick Bruel (over 30 appearances), Michael Jones and Jean-Jacques Goldman (27) remain the most emblematic ambassadors. Every single release from Enfoirés en 2000 (2000) to Mission Enfoirés in 2017 has topped the French charts. The series breaks off briefly that year with Génération Enfoirés, which only reaches No. 6. With Musique! in 2018, the Enfoirés returned to the top of the charts, and followed up in subsequent years with Le Monde des Enfoirés (2019), Le Pari(s) des Enfoirés (2020), à Côté de Vous (2021) and also 2022: Un Air d'Enfoirés (2022), although the latter two shows were recorded without an audience due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The annual rhythm of performances resumes in 2023 with Enfoirés Un Jour, Toujours, filmed in Lyon, then On A 35 Ans! in Bordeaux in 2024 and Au Pays des Enfoirés in Montpellier in 2025. In 2026, the troupe returns to Paris for La Ballade des Enfoirés.
