Born in Denderleeuw in Flemish Belgium on April 4, 1999, Mentissa Aziza was drawn to dance and singing from a very young age. In 2014, at the age of fifteen, she auditioned for the Belgian version of The Voice Kids, which she won in its first season. With no further opportunities following that experience, she signed up in 2019 for the Dutch version of The Voice of Holland but did not make it past the semifinals. She then tried her luck in France on the 10th season of the show The Voice, la plus belle voix in 2020, where she was selected during the blind auditions and stood out for her rendition of Dua Lipaâs song âNew Rulesâ. Noticed by all four judges, she chose Vianney, who mentored her and wrote her first song, âEt bamâ, which was released on the Tôt ou Tard label and reached No. 49 in France and later No. 43 in Belgium. After two more singles, âBalanceâ (No. 40) and âAttendez-moiâ, her debut album La Vingtaine, released in November 2022, reached No. 46 on the French SNEP chart. Adopting a more pop-oriented style, Mentissa continued in 2025 with the tracks âDésoléeâ, âLa Vie quâon mèneâ and âLa Chanson dâamourâ, which appear on the album Enfants Difficiles, which reached No. 100 on the SNEP chart.
