Leon Rosselson, born on 22 June 1934 in Harrow, Middlesex, England, is a British songwriter and writer of children's books. He began his musical journey at Cambridge University, joining the St Lawrence Society folk club and starting to write songs. In the early 1960s, Rosselson gained prominence through BBC's topical TV program That Was the Week That Was, where he performed his satirical songs. He released his EP, Songs for City Squares, in 1962. Throughout his career, Rosselson released numerous albums, including Songs for Sceptical Circles (1966) and Palaces of Gold (1975). He collaborated with various artists, notably Roy Bailey on the album That's Not the Way It's Got To Be (1975). His song "Ballad of a Spycatcher" reached number 7 in the NME indie singles charts in 1987.
