Biography

Cantopop and Mandopop entertainer Leo Ku was born Le Ku Kui Kei on August 18, 1972 in British Hong Kong. He is best-known for his falsetto singing technique. Ku started his entertainment career when he joined the Hong Kong-based TVB (Television Broadcasts Limited) in 1991 as a television presenter. Three years later, he kickstarted his music career with the Cantonese album Explanation of Love (1994). Since the release of the debut album, he has received over 300 music awards from TVB, MTV Asia Awards, CCTV-MTV Music Awards, China Original Music Charts, Chinese Music Media Awards, China Radio and Television Awards, Top Ten Chinese Gold Songs Awards, Music Pioneer Awards and others. Although he has maintained a busy career on TV and on film, he has released over two dozen full-length studio albums, some in Mandarin and others in Cantonese. Those albums include Smile. Talk. Think. (1995), Be My Valentine (1998), Moments (2007), and Dire Au Revoir A Mes Amours (2012). His compilations, live albums, and EPs add to his catalog, which features over 30 titles. His most popular songs include “Really Want” (sung in Mandarin), the Cantopop hit “Never Too Late” and “Medley: Wo Huan Shi Ni De”.
