Biography

LeeAnn Ledgerwood, born on May 10, 1959 in Warren, Ohio, is an American jazz pianist, composer, and music educator. She began playing piano at age four and studied at the Cleveland Institute of Music, North Texas State University, and Berklee College of Music. In 1980, Ledgerwood moved to New York City, performing in local clubs like Bradley’s. Her career included tours with Red Mitchell and collaborations with Eddie Gomez, Jeremy Steig, Bill Evans, and Danny Gottlieb. Ledgerwood's debut album, You Wish, was released in 1991, featuring Gomez. She has since released albums including Now & Zen, Transition, Compassion, and Paradox. Ledgerwood has also composed film music, and in 1992, she began teaching at the Mannes College of Music and the New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music.
