Lee Jae-seong, born on September 8, 1957, in Seoul, South Korea, is a singer and composer. He first gained recognition as a member of the his college band A Guitar and a Penny when they won the silver award with the song "My Dream and Love" at the 1981 MBC Campus Song Festival. He rose to fame in Korea with hit songs like "Candle Festival" and "Lonely DJ," which both reached number one on the Gayo Top 10, a TV program for music. In addition to his singing career, he formed and mentored the Korean R&B group 4MEN in 1997 with fellow musician Hwang Se-ok. His 1986 song "A Guitar and a Penny" was later sampled by the Korean hip-hop duo Dynamic Duo and included in their third album Enlightened (2007) under the title "One Mic." A remixed version of this, called "A Coin (2007)," became a legendary hip-hop collaboration from Show Me the Money 6. His most famous song, "Candle Festival," re-entered Bug's Top 100 Folk/Acoustic albums chart in May 2025.
