Biography
Born November 29, 1995 in Los Angeles, California, Laura Marano is an actress and singer best known for her starring role on the Disney Channel series Austin & Ally. On television, she also appeared on Are You Smarter than a 5th Grader?, Without a Trace, and Back to You. She has also starred in motion pictures and provided voices for animated films like Finding Nemo, Ice Age: The Meltdown, and Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Road Chip. As a recording artist, she first appeared on the soundtrack to Austin & Ally: Turn It Up (2013), followed by Austin & Ally: Take It from the Top (2015). She signed with Big Machine Records in 2015 and released the singles âBoomboxâ and âLa Laâ in 2016. After a two year break, she returned with the independent single âMeâ, followed by the Me EP in 2019. In November 2019, she starred in A Cinderella Story: Christmas Wish and sang several songs on the soundtrack including âEverybody Loves Christmasâ. In October 2020, Marano released the You EP.
