Lary (born June 20, 1986 in Gelsenkirchen) is a singer, songwriter, actress and music producer from Germany. Born Larissa Sirah Herden, she studied media and cultural studies at Heinrich Heine University in Düsseldorf after graduating from high school. After a short time in New York, she returned to Berlin. In 2008, Lary appeared on TV together with Nelson Müller. Later she works together with Tim Bendzko recording studio. Lary supports Curse on his album Freiheit. In mid-2012, the single "Kleinigkeiten" is released together with Chima. She describes her music as Future Deutsche Welle, in reference to Neue Deutsche Welle. Jan Delay discovers Lary's video for the song "Bedtime Blues". As a result, Flo Mega also becomes aware of the artist. Her first official single "System" is released in 2013. Lary releases the EP Lary Says in the same year. She also has several appearances as the opening act for the Fantastischen Vier. Her album Future Deutsche Welle is released in 2014. The longplayer reaches number 98 in the Swiss charts. Together with MoTrip, she released the single "So wie du bist" in 2015. The song climbs to number 3 in Germany and reaches gold status. In the same year, Lary entered the Bundesvision Song Contest 2015 with the song "Bedtime Blues ", after which the artist took a short break. In 2018, Lary returned with the album Hart fragil. The longplayer reached number 62 in the German charts. Parallel to her music career, she starts a career as an actress. Lary makes her debut in the movie Wach. In 2020, she is a juror in the TV casting format Dein Song. Four years later, her third studio album Stereo noir is released. The longplayer reaches number 91 in Germany.
