Lars Ivar Edegran, born in 1944 in Stockholm, is a Swedish-American jazz musician and bandleader specializing in Dixieland. A multi-instrumentalist, he performs primarily on piano, guitar, and banjo, while also playing mandolin, clarinet, and saxophone. Edegran played in New Orleans-inspired groups in Sweden before moving to New Orleans in 1966, where he collaborated with many notable jazz musicians. He founded the New Orleans Ragtime Orchestra, with which he has toured extensively. He has performed regularly at the Palm Court Jazz Cafe in New Orleansâ French Quarter, and his music has been featured in the musical One Moâ Time. His discography includes albums like Lars Edregan and his New Orleans All Stars (1994), Sweet Hot and Lowdown (2006), and New Orleans Jazz (2007).
