Biography

Nicole Monique Wray, known as Lady Wray, was born on May 2, 1979, in Salinas, California. She began her career after moving to Portsmouth, Virginia. In 1998, Wray released her debut single "Make It Hot", which peaked in the top-five on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 and was certified gold within six weeks. Her first album Make It Hot followed that same year under The Goldmind Inc., peaking at Number forty-two on the Billboard Top 200 Albums chart. Wray collaborated with Missy Elliott on "All N My Grill" in 1999, which earned a gold-status certification by the SNEP. In 2009, she collaborated with Terri Walker as Lady, which recorded a homonymous album in 2013. She later recorded under the name of Lady Wray, releasing her second album Queen Alone under Big Crown Records in 2016. Her third album, Piece of Me, peaked at Number seven on the UK R&B Albums chart in 2022. On September 26, 2025 followed Cover Girl (number 81 in UK Albums Downloads), including singles "Best for Us" and "Be a Witness".
