Denise King, born on October 31, 1954, in Philadelphia, is an American jazz singer. She began her career at age 30 without formal training in music or church choir experience. Her breakthrough came when a friend, guitarist Rahman Rasheed, heard her singing and encouraged her to pursue a professional career. King's debut album, Now... Ain't that Love, was released in 1996 under R.E.D.D. King Records. She followed this with Simply Mellow (1996) and Fever (2001) on the same label. In 2012, she released Give Me the High Sign through Cristal Records, collaborating with Olivier Hutman.
