Biography

La Trampa, a rock band from Montevideo, Uruguay, was founded in 1990 by Garo Arakelian and Sergio Schellemberg. Their first performance took place in May 1991, followed by their debut demo recording later that year. The band's initial album, Toca y Obliga, was released in 1994. La Trampa gained popularity throughout the 1990s, performing at major festivals like "Rock acá" in 1997. In 2002, they released Caída Libre, which included hits like "Caída libre" and "Luna de marzo". The band continued to evolve with albums such as Frente a frente (2003) and El Mísero Espiral de encanto (2008). La Trampa received numerous awards, including multiple Premios Graffiti for Best Album and Artist of the Year. The band announced their disbandment in April 2018 after a successful comeback tour in 2017.
