Samuel Eastgate, known professionally as Sam Dust and later LA Priest, is an English musician from Castle Donington. He began his music career as a founding member of Late of the Pier in 2004, serving as their frontman and lead singer. In 2007, while still with Late of the Pier, Eastgate initiated his solo project LA Priest with the release of the single "Engine". After Late of the Pier disbanded, Eastgate moved to Greenland for personal studies before relocating to Welshpool, Wales. Under the LA Priest moniker, he released his debut album Inji in 2015, which included notable singles such as "Oino" and "Learning To Love". In 2016, Eastgate collaborated with Connan Mockasin on the project Soft Hair, releasing an eponymous album. LA Priest's subsequent releases include the albums Gene (2020) and Fase Luna (2023).
