Biography

London Boys, a British/German musical duo composed of Edem Ephraim and Dennis Fuller, was formed in 1986 as a vehicle for composer and producer Ralf-René Maué. Both members were born on July 1, 1959, and June 19, 1959, respectively, with Ephraim hailing from London and Fuller from Jamaica. The duo initially gained traction in the late 1980s with their singles "London Nights" and "Requiem", released in 1988. "Requiem" became a significant breakthrough, reaching number 4 on the UK Singles Chart in April 1989. This success was followed by the re-release of "London Nights" and their debut album The Twelve Commandments Of Dance, both of which peaked at number 2 on the respective UK charts. Additional notable singles include "Harlem Desire", which reached number 17, and a remix of "My Love", which charted at number 46. Their subsequent albums included Sweet Soul Music (1991), and Love 4 Unity (1993). In 1995, under the name New London Boys, they released Hallelujah Hits, which featured Eurodance arrangements of traditional religious compositions. Despite their early success, later releases did not achieve significant chart positions in the UK. Tragically, both Ephraim and Fuller, along with Ephraim's wife Bettina, died in a car accident on January 21, 1996, while traveling through the Austrian Alps. The duo sold over 4.5 million records worldwide during their career.
