Biography

The Los Angeles League of Musicians, often abbreviated as LA LOM, is an American instrumental band originating from Los Angeles, California, and consisting of guitarist Zac Sokolow, bassist Jake Faulkner, and percussionist Nicholas Baker. They began performing together in 2018 at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel, where they experimented with a mix of genres including cumbia and Peruvian chicha. In 2021, LA LOM released their debut EP LA LOM, which gained traction on social media. Their discography included covers of cumbia and chicha bands as well as original tracks inspired by locations in Los Angeles. In August 2024, the band released their first full-length album, The Los Angeles League of Musicians, through Verve Records, which debuted at number 5 on Billboard's Tropical Albums chart and reached number 18 on the Emerging Artists chart. LA LOM toured with Vampire Weekend in support of this album.
