La Düsseldorf was a German krautrock band formed in 1975 by Klaus Dinger, Thomas Dinger, and Hans Lampe. The group emerged from the Krautrock scene, with Klaus Dinger being a former member of Neu!. Their debut album, La Düsseldorf, was released in 1976 under Teldec Records. This was followed by Viva in 1978 and Individuellos in 1980. Notable singles include "Rheinita" (1979) and "Dampfriemen" (1980). The band's success led to a legal dispute with Warner Brothers, which contributed to their eventual disbandment. Klaus Dinger continued to release music under various names, including Neondian in 1985 as Klaus Dinger + Rheinita Bella Düsseldorf and Blue in 1999 as La! Neu?. In 2006, he attempted to revive La Düsseldorf but faced further legal issues, leading to the release of Mon Amour under the name La-duesseldorf.de. The band's influence was recognized by notable figures such as Brian Eno and David Bowie, with Bowie describing them as "the soundtrack of the eighties."
