Biography
Baby Guru, a Greek band based in Athens, was formed in 2009 by childhood friends King Elephant (Yannis Karras), Prins Obi (Yorgos Dimakis), and Sir Kosmiche (Axios Zafirakos). Initially known as Art, the trio began playing music together during high school. In 2010, they released their first EP, Yogi Sister Vol. I, and started performing live in Athens. Their debut album, Baby Guru, was released in 2011 by Inner Ear Records, showcasing heavy krautrock influences. The band's second album, Pieces, released in 2012, expanded their sound to include psychedelic rock and gained favorable reviews. In March 2014, they released Marginalia, which further explored new wave and synthpop elements. Baby Guru toured extensively, including appearances at the CMJ Music Marathon in New York in October 2014. Their album Sunshine Special was released in 2015, followed by IV in 2017.
