Biography
Kollektiv Turmstrasse, a German musical duo consisting of Nico Plagemann and Christian Hilscher, was founded in 1999 in Wismar, Germany. The duo started their project in a shared apartment on TurmstraÃe, which inspired their name. Influenced by the sound of Basic Channels, they released their first official production, "Turmstrasse", in 2001 on the sampler Team Battle Vol. 2 by Electronic Parliament. Their debut album, Verrückte Welt, was released in 2006 under their own netlabel No Response. Over the years, Kollektiv Turmstrasse evolved from melodic minimal techno to a modern house sound with influences from breakbeat, hip hop, indie-pop, and electronica. Hilscher left the project in 2021, and Plagemann continues to lead Kollektiv Turmstrasse independently.
