Biography

Kolibri was a Soviet and Russian experimental pop/rock group formed in 1988 in Saint Petersburg by Natalya Pivovarova. The band's debut performance at the Leningrad Rock Club marked their breakthrough moment. Their first album, Manner of Conduct, was released in 1990. Kolibri gained critical acclaim with albums like Little Tragedies (1992) and Find Ten Differences (1994). Pivovarova left in 1998 to form Sous, but the band continued releasing albums such as Love and Its Limbs (2002) and Iron Stars (2009). Despite critical success, Kolibri never achieved commercial success. The group released posthumous albums, including Apocryphas (2013) and Happiness Is Not (2021), following Pivovarova's death in 2007.
