KOAST, born Amal in 1993 in Tunis and raised in Monastir, is a Tunisian singer, rapper and songwriter. Trained in jazz and classical Arabic music, she has developed a unique style blending hip-hop, R'n'B, oriental maqâm and neo-soul. Inspired by Oum Kalthoum, Abdel Wahab and Fairuz, as well as Lauryn Hill, Aaliyah and Amy Winehouse, her music is introspective and multilingual (Arabic, French, English), exploring identity and emotion. In 2019, she unveils B-Town Vol.1, her first EP with Ratchopper, and a string of standout tracks such as"Bayati South","BELEK","KIMA NINA" and"BERLIN". She collaborates with artists from the North African scene such as Small X, Naqqa, Nessyou and 4lfa. With over two million listens, KOAST has established itself as a free and daring voice on the MENA scene, between heritage and modernity.
