Lalla Rami, born in 2000 in Kénitra (Morocco), is a Moroccan rapper and singer based in France. Inspired by chaâbi, US rap and figures like Oum Kalthoum, Beyoncé and Nicki Minaj, she left Morocco in 2019 for Paris, where she collaborated with DJ KennyBoy, Sébastien Boumati and BuldozBeats. After featuring on Janis'"SMTH", she unveiled her first single"Inchallah" in 2022, a hard-hitting track in which she asserts her identity and resilience. Blending Darija, French and English, her music oscillates between introspection and protest, refusing to be reduced to her identity as a trans woman. Inspired as much by Nicki Minaj as by Hajja El Hamdaouia, her unique style shakes up codes and enriches the French rap scene.
