Marion Kathleen Londres, known by the stage name Kathy Linden, was an American pop singer born on 22 June 1938 in Trenton, New Jersey. She began her career at a young age, performing as a tap and ballet dancer and later acting in school plays and musicals. Her early talents also included playing the piano and violin with local symphony orchestras and an all-girl string quintet called the Singing Strings. She was discovered by record producer Joe Leahy at 19 years old, leading to her first release, "It's Just My Luck to Be Fifteen", on Felsted Records. She achieved significant chart success in the late 1950s with two notable hits on the US Billboard Hot 100: "Billy", which reached number seven in 1958, and "Goodbye Jimmy, Goodbye", which peaked at number 11 in 1959. Both singles were backed by Joe Leahy's orchestra. Her version of "Goodbye Jimmy, Goodbye" also enjoyed success as an international hit, particularly in Sweden, where it reached number three. After additional recordings for Felsted, Monument, and Capitol Records, she retired from show business in 1963. She later returned to music with inspirational songs and worship leading at churches. In 2019, she released The Love That's In My Heart, her first album in over 55 years. Kathy Linden passed away in 2024.
