Biography
Katherine "Kath" Bloom is an American folk songwriter based in Litchfield, Connecticut. She began her musical journey studying cello as a child and later took up the guitar during her teenage years. In the early 1970s, Bloom collaborated with Bruce Neumann before starting to record music with avant-garde guitarist Loren MazzaCane Connors in 1976. Their collaborations resulted in multiple albums featuring Bloom's fragile folk and blues melodies, including Hanford, Bloom And Mazzacane (1981), Pushin' Up Daisies (1982), and Moonlight (1984). After a hiatus following financial hardship, Bloom resumed recording in the early 1990s. Her song "Come Here" was featured in Richard Linklater's 1995 film Before Sunrise, leading to renewed interest in her music. In 2009, she began touring and released several albums including Thin Thin Line (2010) and Pass Through Here (2015). Bloom continued to perform with her band Love at Work and offered musical programs for children and adults.
