Kalle Kalima is a Finnish jazz guitarist and composer born on 29 December 1973 in Helsinki. He studied piano for five years before switching to guitar at age 11 and later attended the Sibelius Academy and the Hanns Eisler Conservatory in Berlin. He began his professional recording career with the group Momentum Impakto, releasing the album Haw Haw (1999). Kalima released his debut solo album, Hippycone (2000), which featured the Kalle Kalima Trio and Marc Ducret. He established himself in Berlin and founded the group Klima Kalima, which received the New Mannheim Jazz Prize in 2008. His work with the ensemble K-18 includes the album Out to Lynch (2012), which won an Emma Award in 2013. He has collaborated with artists such as Tomasz StaÅko, Linda Sharrock, and Jimi Tenor. Solo albums include High Noon (2016) and Flying Like Eagles (2019). In 2025, he released the album Voyager Blues with Klima Kalima.
