Eri Hiramatsu, born 8â¯Marchâ¯1964 in Japan, began her career as a pop singer in 1989. Her debut single "Niji ga kirai" marked her entry into the Jâpop scene, followed by the album TREASURE released on 21â¯Februaryâ¯1989. In the early 1990s she issued a steady stream of studio albums, including Totteoki no 20 byo (21â¯Novemberâ¯1989), My Dear (15â¯Decemberâ¯1990), and redeem (27â¯Novemberâ¯1991), each contributing to her growing presence on the Japanese charts. In March 1992, "Heya to Y-Shirt to Watash," a single released from the album MY DEAR, became a massive hit, selling nearly one million copies and launching her career. The 1993 release Single Is Best compiled her most successful tracks up to that point, while Hitoyo Hitoyoni yumemigoro(17â¯Decemberâ¯1993) and 7 DAYS GIRL (11â¯Novemberâ¯1994) demonstrated her versatility across ballads and upbeat pop. In 1996 she released the miniâalbum Eriâs âBâ Good and the single "Bibitto Dokitto Good Day", sustaining her commercial relevance. Subsequent compilations such as GOLDENâBEST (18â¯Mayâ¯2011) and Hiramatsu Eri The Single Best (16â¯Novemberâ¯2005) highlighted her enduring catalog. Throughout her career, Eri Hiramatsu maintained a steady chart presence, with several singles reaching the top 20 of the Oricon singles chart, and she received recognition for her contributions to Japanese pop music through multiple award nominations and appearances on national television programs.
