Satoko Ishimine, born 石嶺聡子 on October 3, 1975, in Naha City, Okinawa Prefecture, Japan, is a singer-songwriter known for her contributions to J-pop and pop music. Her breakthrough came in 1992 when she won the grand prix at the 16th annual Nagasaki Singing Festival, securing a recording contract with Toshiba EMI. After graduating from high school, Ishimine traveled to Los Angeles for voice training and dancing lessons. In January 2001, she released her last original album for Toshiba EMI, Closet, before transitioning to PRHYTHM in 2003. Her first album with the new label, Bloomy Balloon, featured lyrics and melodies co-created with guitarist Hikaru Ishizaki. In May 2013, Ishimine released three songs on digital streaming platforms and produced her first cover album, which was released by Tokuma Japan in September 2014.
