Jun Senoue, born ç¬ä¸ç´ on August 2, 1970 in Matsushima, Miyagi, Japan, is a Japanese composer and guitarist. He began playing piano at age three and later taught himself guitar. After graduating from Aoyama Gakuin University, Senoue sent demo tapes to Sega, leading to his first project arranging music for Dark Wizard. His breakthrough came with contributions to Sonic the Hedgehog 3 in 1993. Senoue became the lead composer and sound director for Sonic Adventure in 1998, solidifying his involvement with the Sonic series. He moved to San Francisco in 1999 and continued working on various Sonic games. In 2000, Senoue formed the hard rock duo Crush 40 with Johnny Gioeli, contributing theme songs to multiple Sonic titles. Notable releases include The Works in 2009 and its sequel The Works II in 2016. Crush 40 performed at various conventions and festivals, including Summer of Sonic and Comic-Con.
