Julia Takada is an indie pop singer based in Tokyo and affiliated with the creative label w.a.u. With Japanese and American roots, she brings a cross-cultural sensibility to her music, marked by a voice that balances brightness with emotional delicacy. Alongside her music career, she is also active as a freelance model, cultivating a visual presence that complements her artistic identity. She first drew wider attention in August 2021 with the release of âDonât Know Who I Am,â which was featured in the film Mottomo Mugai de, Amarinimo Kougekiteki. The film was selected as a Yubari Hope title at the Yubari International Fantastic Film Festival, introducing her music to a broader audience. Julia Takada has since appeared as a featured singer in ahamoâs Gen Z interview project âdreamers,â further highlighting her appeal to younger listeners. Her songs have been placed on major editorial playlists including streaming services' âBorderless,â âEdge!,â and âGirls On Fire,â as well as âLatest Songs: J-Rockâ and âLatest Songs: Alternative.â In March 2025, she released the EP You & I, earning additional recognition.
