Biography

Juanita du Plessis, born on April 26, 1972, in Windhoek, South West Africa, is a Namibian-South African country singer. Her career began in 1998 with the release of her debut album Juanita, winning multiple awards at the CMA (Country Music Association in Namibia) including Best Singer and Songwriter. Du Plessis' subsequent albums include Ek en Jy (2001), Dis waar ek wil wees (2002), and Jy is.... (2003). Her song "Ska-Rumba" became particularly notable, contributing to her widespread recognition. In 2010, she received a South African Music Award for Best Afrikaans DVD for her 10 Year Hit Celebration Production. Other albums include Bly By My (2005) and Vlieg hoog (2007), as well as notable collaborations such as "Bring jou Hart" with Theuns Jordaan. Her album sales total over 3,000,000 units.
