Biography
Juçara Marçal is a Brazilian singer and educator who was born as Juçara Marçal Nunes in 1962 in Duque de Caxias. She began a professional artistic career in 1990 with the Companhia Coral and later performed with the female vocal group Vésper Vocal, which released the recordings Flor DâElis (1998) and Ser tão paulista (2004). Marçal achieved professional prominence as a co-founder of the band A Barca in 1998 and the trio Metá Metá in 2011, the latter of which released three albums between 2011 and 2016. Her solo discography includes the debut recording Padê (2008), created in partnership with Kiko Dinucci, and the critically acclaimed studio album Encarnado (2014). The latter recording earned her the Prêmio Multishow for Shared Music. Her subsequent releases include the collaborative album Anganga (2015) and her third solo work, Delta Estácio Blues (2021), which was named Album of the Year at the Prêmio Multishow.
