Biography
Real name Karim Ballo, Jr. O Crom was born in Paris on January 25, 1985. Of Malian origin, he grew up in the 3rd arrondissement and began rapping at the dawn of the 2000s with Maître Gims, a native of his neighborhood, and Kanté. Thanks to his husky voice and jerky flow, he joined the Sexion d'Assaut collective in 2002, alongside Maître Gims, Lefa, Barack Adama, Maska, Doomams, Black Mesrimes and Lio Pétrodollars. It wasn't until 2010, however, that the band graced fans with a debut opus, L'Ãcole des Points Vitaux, followed by L'Apogée in 2012. Some members then decided to go solo. This was the case for Maître Gims, Black M, Maska, but also for Jr O Crom (sometimes spelled JR O Chrome) and Doomams. The latter two made their mark in 2016 with a joint debut EP, Vendetta, heralding a debut album of the same name. The latter won over many fans with the homonymous first single, which made it into the French charts.
