Biography

Jr. Gone Wild, a Canadian country/punk rock band based in Edmonton, Alberta, was founded in 1982 by Mike McDonald, Tom Wolfe, Adele Wolfe, and Bill Pontez. The group initially played several gigs in Calgary before disbanding and reforming with new members including David Lawson and Dave "Dove" Brown. Their first album, Less Art More Pop!, was released in 1986 on the BYO label. After several personnel changes, Jr. Gone Wild won an Alberta Recording Industry Award for best rock band in 1994. The band's discography includes notable albums such as Too Dumb to Quit (1990), Pull The Goalie (1992), and Simple Little Wish (1995). Jr. Gone Wild disbanded later that year, but reformed in 2013 for a reunion show and continued performing live, re-releasing their debut album independently and recording new songs. In 2016, the song "Cosmos" from Less Art More Pop! was recorded by Calgary band Napalmpom.
