Biography
Johannes Sumpich (June 22, 1986), aka Josh., is an Austrian musician from Vienna. Born in the district of Liesing, he studied vocal pedagogy but eventually dropped out to focus on his music career. He made his debut in 2014 with the single âWie im Kino,â issued under his real name. In 2016, Josh. teamed up with singer Kathi Kallauch for the song âKein Sommer für einen allein,â which ended up winning Radio Wienâs Sommerhit contest. After dropping the singles âWenn du jedenâ (2017) and âSowiesoâ (2018), Josh. jumped into the spotlight with the ubiquitous summer hit âCordula Grün,â reaching Number 5 on the Austrian Singles Chart and winning Song of the Year at the Amadeus Awards 2019. His studio debut, Von Mädchen und Farben, came out the day after the ceremony and included both âCordula Grünâ and the gold-selling single âVielleicht.â Preceded by the singles âWo bist duâ and âRing in der Hand,â Josh.âs sophomore effort Teilzeitromantik was released in 2021. The album also included the track âExpresso & Tschianti,â an uplifting pop-rock tune that went to Number 66 in Austria.
