Johnny Rivera, born on February 4, 1962, in the Bronx, New York, is an American salsa singer of Puerto Rican descent. He attended Benjamin Franklin High School and briefly moved to Puerto Rico before returning to New York City to pursue a music career. His first album, Y Ahora de Verdad, was released in 1991. Johnny Rivera's breakthrough came with the release of "Se Parecia Tanto a Ti" in 1995, which reached Number 1 on the Billboard Latin Tropical chart. He has since scored fifteen hit singles and was nominated for Tropical New Artist of the Year at the 1994 Lo Nuestro Awards. He continued through the 1990s with the albums Paisajes de la Vida (1996), Un Estilo Propio (1998) and Estoy Aquà (2000), plus the live set Palladium Series Live (2001), and in the 2000s recorded Vivo Por Ti (2007) before issuing El Noble De La Salsa in 2011 on his own Lluvia Music imprint, adopting âEl Noble de la Salsaâ as his artistic nickname. Into the 2010s and 2020s he focused on singles and collaborations, including "Nadie Se Muere Por Amor" with Tony Vega (2016), "A Como de Lugar" with Yan Collazo (2019), the multi-artist track "Yo No Sé" with Norbert, Elvis Crespo and Oscarito (2020), the independently released album Romántico y Algo Más (2020), a live remake of "Cuando Parará La Lluvia" on Norberto Vélezâs Sesiones Desde La Loma in 2020, and guest appearances such as "Final Feliz" with Ricky Luis in 2024.
