Johnny Hiland, born January 18, 1975, in Woodland, Maine, is an American guitarist. Born with Nystagmus, a condition that left him nearly blind, Hiland began playing guitar at age two and had his first television appearance by seven. His breakthrough came at ten when he won awards in a New York talent show. Influenced by Ricky Skaggs, Hiland developed a unique style blending rock, blues, and country. After moving to Nashville in 1996, he quickly gained recognition, performing with artists like Toby Keith and Randy Travis. Hiland signed with Steve Vai, who produced his self-titled album in 2004. In 2004, Hiland also began leading the Johnny Hiland Band, touring globally. In 2011, he released All Fired Up.
