Biography

John Schumann and the Vagabond Crew are an Australian folk group formed in Adelaide in 2005. The band marked John Schumann's return to regular performances after his time as frontman of Redgum. Their debut album Lawson was released in the same year. It featured Henry Lawson's poems set to music, in collaboration with Hugh McDonald and Michael Atkinson. The group followed with the album Behind The Lines in 2008, focusing on Australians at war. In 2018, they released Ghosts & Memories, which included "On Every Anzac Day", commissioned by LTGEN David Morrison. They have performed extensively for notable events such as the Adelaide Festival in September 2022.
