Biography

Jimmy Irieda (born October 1, 1972, in Ichiki-Kushikino City, Kagoshima Prefecture) is a Japanese singer, doo-wop singer, and music producer. His genres include doo-wop, oldies, and J-POP. He began his professional career in 1995 and made his CD debut in 2001. He studied under Masato Uchida (of The King Tones) and Boo Takagi, and has released original songs as well as arrangements of Kagoshima folk songs, Showa-era pop songs, and children’s songs, with doo-wop as his core style. His representative works include the albums *Doo-Wop de Children’s Songs* (2011) , *Like a Dandelion…* (2016) , and *Poppo Pop* (2022) . Notable songs include “Doo-Wop Kushikino Sano-sa” (2005) and “Baby Baby” (2023) . In 2026, they released their latest single “Wai Bakai (ONLY YOU)” , which garnered attention as a unique arrangement of The Platters’ classic “Only You” performed in the Kagoshima dialect.
