James Harmon Stack, known professionally as Jim-E Stack, was born on January 21, 1992, in San Francisco, California. He is an American musician, songwriter, record producer, and DJ who began his musical journey playing in garage rock bands and jazz bands before transitioning to electronic music production. Stack's early releases, including the EP Come Between (2012), the single "Bubble Boy" (2012), and remixes for Sky Ferreira and ASAP Rocky, which garnered critical acclaim. His debut album, Tell Me I Belong, was released in 2014 under Innovative Leisure, accompanied by tours with Shlohmo and Bonobo. Stack has collaborated with numerous artists, including The Range, Noonie Bao, Rostam, Charli XCX, Kacy Hill, Dominic Fike, Haim, and Lorde. His second album, Ephemera, was released in 2020 and featured collaborations with Ant Clemons, Empress Of, Dijon, and Bon Iver.
